Limerick Football Heroes Visit Courtenay!
On Wednesday, Courtenay welcomed the Limerick Football Manager
Jimmy Lee, County players Emmet Rigter, Ruadhán O’Connor, and
Darren O’Doherty, along with Strength and Conditioning Coach Conor
Walker, to a special assembly in the school hall. They brought with
them the Division 4 League Cup — and a whole lot of excitement!
The children gave our visitors a great welcome, with cheers and
applause echoing around the hall. Jimmy and Conor spoke about the
dedication and commitment it takes to play for club and county, and
the three players were fantastic with the children — answering
questions about their toughest opponents, training sessions, and
favourite sports stars outside the GAA.
The group visited classes, posed for photos, and joined Junior Infants
and Mr. O’Doherty to practise football skills on the yard — a big hit
with our youngest players!
th
Jimmy and Conor also spent time with 6 class, giving them advice
about making good decisions and being independent thinkers.
They left all of us with one powerful message: find something you
love to play, do, or be part of – do it, enjoy it, and always try to be
your best.
A truly memorable day for the whole Courtenay community
